Knights Challenge Camp
What is it?
Mixed teams of Explorers and Scouts will be pitting their wits against each other to hunt the fort for their equipment to build the best device to launch “bombs”. Teams will then have a limited time to build their devices and make their “bombs” before challenging the other teams in a knockout competition.
Whilst the chance of Bear visiting is reasonably likely, please big up the actual event, rather than emphasising the potential visit of Bear..just to avoid too much disappointment if the weather doesn’t allow him to fly or suchlike!
Put your orienteering, pioneering, cooking, reconnaissance, and entertainment skills to the test for an epic 24 hours of medieval challenges, escapades and fun. (Oh, and did we mention that we have our fingers crossed for a visit from The Chief Scout himself??)
What will I be doing?
We don’t want to give the whole game away, but the weekend will be packed full of adventure, activities and excitement. This will not be your average Scout Camp!
Here is just a taster of what we have in store…
The Medieval Challenge
The Ultimate scavenger hunt
Really Wide Game
…..and much more!
How much will it cost?
The cost of the weekend will be £15, including food and accommodation- no tent required!
(As always, if cost is a problem, please do talk to us, as Scouting is for everyone and we don’t want anyone to miss out!)
How do we get there?
Landguard Fort is located near the end of View Point Road, Felixstowe.
What will I need to bring?
Food and a roof over your head will be provided. You will need to bring normal camp kit including an old set of clothes and full uniform (no hats please Sea Scouts!)
How do I book my place?
There are limited spaces available, so please book your place by 8th September 2013 at the latest.
Any spaces left after this date will be offered to other Scouts and Explorers in the County.
To book your place, please complete and return the medical form and £15 to your Troop / Unit leader.
If you are interested please contact Nicola Day (Deputy District Commissioner) with your confirmed numbers by this date.
LEADERS : As a leader, all you need to do is collect the money and health forms and turn up on the day with nothing but some cooking equipment and your own personal overnight gear. If you are unable to attend yourself, please still advertise the even to your Scout / Explorer, as we should be able to accommodate them (if enough adults are willing to support the event).
